Jonathan Ohring has a rich and diverse litigation background, representing clients in complex commercial matters, including contractual disputes, business divorces, corporate governance matters, securities actions, class actions, shareholder derivative actions, bankruptcy litigation, government and regulatory proceedings, and appeals. He has represented businesses of all sizes, from large publicly traded companies and financial institutions to small family businesses, as well as boards of directors, company management, and individuals.

Additionally, his experience litigating in multiple jurisdictions has fostered a dynamic, out-of-the-box approach to problem-solving in high-stakes, complex matters. - Representing a publicly traded pharmaceutical company in an action brought by an international construction company relating to alleged breaches of contract, resulting in the dismissal of numerous claims in ongoing litigation.
- Obtaining complete dismissal of a defamation action brought against a high-net-worth individual by her sibling, involving novel claims implicating a future inheritance.
- Obtaining summary judgment and a complete victory for the CEO of a prominent liquor company, in claims relating to his service as administrator of his son’s estate.
- Representing the co-founder and former Chief Financial Officer of a technology staffing company in ongoing litigation relating to breach of an employment contract and rights in certain software and intellectual property.
- Representing a publicly traded real estate investment trust in a securities fraud class action and multiple related actions asserting more than $3 billion in damages arising from an alleged accounting fraud.
- Representing a publicly traded municipal bond insurer in a creditor priority dispute as part of the largest municipal bankruptcy in U.S. history, resulting in a victory for his client over hundreds of millions of dollars in revenues.
Jonathan has also become a leading practitioner on cryptocurrency-related issues. Among his significant matters has been the representation of the founder and former CEO of a prominent cryptocurrency company in criminal and regulatory investigations, a securities class action, civil actions brought by the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC), Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC), Federal Trade Commission (FTC), and New York Attorney General (NYAG), and bankruptcy proceedings arising from the company’s collapse following the decline in the cryptocurrency market. Jonathan helped to secure dismissal of three of those actions on behalf of the former CEO. Jonathan also has experience representing creditors in bankruptcy clawback proceedings seeking the return of digital assets.
Jonathan leverages his 10 years of experience practicing with two prominent international law firms – Milbank LLP and Dechert LLP – and his service as a federal law clerk to the Honorable Charlene E. Honeywell of the United States District Court for the Middle District of Florida.
