Jonathan Ohring has a rich and diverse litigation background, representing clients in complex commercial matters, including contractual disputes, business divorces, corporate governance matters, securities actions, class actions, shareholder derivative actions, bankruptcy litigation, government and regulatory proceedings and appeals. His clients include businesses of all sizes, financial institutions, boards of directors, company management and individuals.
Jonathan draws on his 10 years of experience practicing with two prominent international law firms – Milbank LLP and Dechert LLP – and his service as a federal law clerk to the Honorable Charlene E. Honeywell of the United States District Court for the Middle District of Florida.
Two of his most notable cases involve representing a publicly traded real estate investment trust in a securities fraud class action asserting more than $3 billion in damages arising from alleged accounting fraud, and representing a publicly traded municipal bond insurer in a creditor priority dispute as part of the largest municipal bankruptcy in U.S. history, which resulted in a victory for his client of over hundreds of millions of dollars in revenues.
Jonathan’s diverse practice has exposed him to a breadth of different businesses, each with its particular challenges and novel legal issues. These experiences enable him to quickly analyze new cases and devise strategies that align with his clients’ professional and personal goals. In addition, Jonathan’s experience litigating in multiple jurisdictions has fostered a dynamic, out-of-the-box approach to problem-solving in high-stakes, complex matters.
