Anxhela Mile Speaks to Pace Law Students About the Publication, Fulfilling the Sustainable Development Goals
Yankwitt LLP Associate Anxhela Mile recently spoke to a group of Pace Law School students about a chapter she co-authored in the book, “Fulfilling the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).” In chapter 29, “Indigenous Peoples, the SDGs, and International Environmental Law,” Anxhela and co-author Railla Puno discuss the integral role indigenous peoples (IPs) play in sustainable development, protecting biodiversity, and mitigating climate change. They assess various international environmental laws that have been inclusive of IPs’ rights and analyze where the SDGs need to better incorporate IPs’ rights. Anxhela also served as an assistant editor of the publication.
The academic book was published by Routledge and co-edited by Narinder Kakar, Vesselin Popovski, and Nicholas A. Robinson.
