Russell Yankwitt Selected for Crain’s New York Business’ 2026 Notable Leaders in Accounting, Consulting & Law list

This recognition marks the third Crain’s “notable” for a Yankwitt LLP attorney: Russell Yankwitt was selected to the Notable Litigators & Trial Attorneys list in 2025, and Partner and Executive Director Dina Hamerman was recognized as a Notable Woman in Law in 2021.

With more than two decades of legal experience, Yankwitt has established himself as one of New York’s most respected litigators. His impressive track record includes numerous victories in both New York state and federal court, as well as in arbitrations and mediations, on behalf of leading global, national, regional and local companies and individuals.

Before founding Yankwitt LLP in 2009, Yankwitt was a litigator with Skadden, Arps, Slate, Meagher & Flom LLP. He also served as an assistant U.S. attorney in the Southern District of New York and clerked for the Honorable Thomas C. Platt in the Eastern District of New York.

Beyond his legal practice, Yankwitt serves in leadership positions with numerous professional and civic organizations, including as president-elect of the Federal Bar Council. Upon taking office in November, he will become only the second president in the organization’s history from outside New York City. He is also active in mentoring and access to justice initiatives through organizations including the Westchester County Bar Association, Legal Services of the Hudson Valley and Gideon’s Promise.

Russell has also been recognized for his commercial litigation practice by Chambers USA, Benchmark Litigation, Legal 500, and Best Lawyers in America.
