Yankwitt LLP obtained a settlement mid-trial of $1 million for a victim of fraud in Westchester Supreme Court. Yankwitt LLP represented Plaintiff, an elderly woman who suffered from memory loss and dementia and brought suit against Defendant, who was Plaintiff’s bookkeeper, for fraud, conversion, breach of fiduciary duty, and unjust enrichment. After completion of jury selection, with Yankwitt LLP poised to try the case to a jury, Defendant settled, agreeing to pay $1 million in resolution of the claims. The case is Tanner v. Treglia, 67499/2016 (West. Sup. Ct.).
